Abridgment and Editing
We can provide the service of abridging
your book. This is a specially focused type of book editing that
reduces the volume of the book's text while streamlining it
specifically for audio. Our book abridgement / editing procedure entails a great deal of study of the work.
The book will go through no less than four separate processes before being
sent back to the author or publisher for abridgement approval. Because of the
special care required, abridgment and editing jobs are done on a case-by-case
basis and only at the author's/publisher's request. We charge a very
reasonable $500 per 10,000 words.
We find that we are
publishing mostly unabridged versions of books and that consumers
seem to be trending this way. But there are
still many reasons why Abridgment or Editing may be perfect for your book,
particularly if it is a how-to or self-help book.
Abridgment and Editing can streamline the book, making
it easier for the listener to digest. It will yield a lower setup cost
for you. It will also allow the audio book to be priced lower and/or
allow you to take greater advantage of our
Bonus Royalty Program and earn you much
greater revenues.
